David Beckham and Safilo Cement Their Partnership with a Perpetual Licensing Deal

Authentic Brands Group and eyewear behemoth Safilo have extended their successful collaboration on David Beckham’s eyewear, transitioning from a time-limited agreement to a perpetual licensing deal.

This new arrangement supersedes the initial contract set to conclude at the end of 2030.

Under this enduring partnership, Safilo retains comprehensive control over the entire value chain—from the design phase, which continues to be creatively led by the soccer icon, to production and worldwide distribution. Beckham and Safilo first joined forces in 2019, launching the debut Eyewear by David Beckham collection in 2020, now globally available.

The Italian firm emphasizes that Beckham has played a vital role alongside its design team in crafting an extensive array of sunglasses and optical frames. These products are released biannually at premium price points and are known for intricate details such as the ‘Talisman’, inspired by bird wings symbolizing strength, protection, and freedom, prominently featured alongside a lasered DB monogram on the lenses.

Safilo reports that the brand has built a substantial global following over the years.
